What's new....

A lot has happened since my last blog. Emily is changing so fast and accomplishing so much. I can't keep up. She has moved up to the Toddler Room at daycare. There she feeds herself and sleeps on a cot. We are going to change her crib into a toddler bed this weekend. She's ready, but we're not.

She loves to draw and write--on everything! I'm constantly saying, "Only on paper please". So far she has drawn on the floor, dishwasher, refrigerator, and back door. At least it keeps her entertained while we try to finish dinner.

Her favorite song right now is "If you're happy and you know it." She does the hand motions and is sooo cute.

She has had a ton of "Firsts" this summer.....

Her first boat ride and trip to the lake. Contrary to what her Dad thinks, she hates going fast and hates Floats!!
Her first time in a swimming pool.
Her first trip to the State House and USC Horseshoe--thanks Auntie Gina!!!
Her first friend sleep over.
Her first slip and slide experience-- basically Scott just slid her down before she knew what was going on:)

There's more! I realized that I need to start taking more pictures and writing about these times. They'll be gone before we know it.

She's still a Daddy's girl.

I scream, You scream, We all scream for ice cream...

Emily enjoys spending time with her Mimi and Pops. She also loves Zesto's ice cream, and even shares most of the time. Her new favorite activity is playing with her Dad and the water hose. PRECIOUS!!!
Wow, is all that I can say about how fast Emily is changing. Everyday she masters a new task. I am a mom to a TODDLER (who pitches tantrums I might add). She is becoming an independent little person. She can wash her hands, wipe up spills on the floor, and throw things in the trash. Right now she thinks every animal we see is named BoBo (our neighbor's Poodle).
I thank God for our precious one everyday. I love you Emily!

I'm a Big Girl Now

This pic was from several months back. We were eating breakfast at IHOP. Btw-she ate most of her Daddy's pancake before getting her bottle :) AND NOW...
She used her sippy cup all day yesterday and drank whole (Organic) milk. Like a big girl! I was so worried that it would be hard to get her off of her bottles, but it seems to be smooth sailing. Whoo Hoo!! Check off another milestone.
She's moved up to the Creeper Room at daycare, and loves it. They have fun things to play on and they make crafts. She eats breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria. I thank God for our daycare. The workers love her and she loves to go!

Happy Valentine's Day

"Hey, Who ate my Goldfish?"

Almost 11 Months....

I haven't blogged in awhile because I've been busy with Miss E. I can't believe how fast she is growing and changing. She has mastered crawling and I think she will be walking in a week or two. We have had to put locks on all the cabinets. She can say bye, cat, ball and thank-you. She is even saying Momma more and more. She is still a Daddy's girl ;) Where did my little baby go? Her favorite thing right now is going outside and riding her tricycle. It has a handle so that we can push her without having to break our backs in the process. So, we push and push and push.... Great exercise! I'm kind of looking forward to when she can peddle on her own. Still no teeth!!

Dinner at the Spires...

Someone likes Momma's cookin'! The menu consisted of Emily's favorite (green peas) and for the first time Spaghetti O's. It was a mess. I put her straight into the tub afterwards. She was so happy! She has learned to patty cake. She loves her bath time too.

It seems I am learning just as much as she is now. This weeks biggest revelations are...

Once I think about doing something I need to do it right then or else I will forget later.

I am limited physically and mentally.

To stop apologizing about my house being untidy. At the same time, I have too much crap in my house.

I'm sure there will be many more life lessons learned through this experience. It is wonderful being a Mom. I love you Emily, you are so special!
